I am a NYC based yoga instructor, teaching both group classes and private sessions as well as in corporate and hospital settings.
I strongly believe in the power of movement and the mind-body connection. A New York native, I trained as a classical ballerina growing up. It was learning about Eastern philosophies in college at the University of Virginia that inspired me to use yoga as a way to complement my dance studies. Later, while pursuing a professional modern and contemporary dance career for several years in LA and NYC, I soon found myself shifting into a deep, daily practice after experiencing several injuries. I couldn’t ignore the profound healing effects of yoga on my body, mind, and soul.
I completed my RYT-200 hr Vinyasa Certification through Yoga Vida in NYC, along with a mentorship under Kat Fowler. I have additional certifications in Restorative Yoga with Master teacher Judith Hanson Lasater, Yin Yoga with Corina Benner, Prenatal/Postnatal yoga through Prenatal Yoga Center, and Yoga for the Cancer Patient through Memorial Sloan Kettering Integrative Medicine Center as well as a meditation workshop with Cyndi Lee.
My classes provide a warm, lighthearted, and supportive space where students feel free to breathe, move, and explore safely no matter the circumstances they find themselves in on the mat. I love sharing the transformative experience of yoga using mindful movement and attention to the breath as I believe that the vast healing effects of yoga can be beneficial to all.
In the private, corporate and hospital setting, I design customized yoga sessions utilizing holistic principles to best support the student and their goals.
